Scholarships for Diabetes
Thousands of students are either diabetic by birth or they end up getting it as they grow up. Getting insulation shots every day can be very demoralizing and hurt one's self esteem. It can also be a financial burden on a student. But the good news is that there are scholarships available to students who are looking to attend college. Students with Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes are eligible to get a diabetic scholarship.
Type 1 Diabetes Scholarships
Diabetes Scholars Foundation Scholarship
The $5.000 Diabetes Scholars Foundation Scholarship is offered to freshmen attending an accredited four year university, college, technical or trade school. This scholarship is for students who have type 1 diabetes, are actively involved in the diabetes community, great academic track and have demonstrated that they are successfully managing the challenges of living with diabetes.
Diabetes Association of Greater Cleveland (DAGC) Scholarship
DAGC offers a $1,000.00 scholarship to a current high school senior has “graduated” from Camp Ho Mita Koda.
The Thomas J. Seefred Scholarship Fund
This scholarship is for college students who have Juvenile Diabetes and are pursuing a bachelor’s degree at an accredited junior college, college, or university.
Aimee Melissa Davis Memorial Scholarship
A scholarship is awarded to a graduating high school senior from the Austin area who has been accepted to college, who has juvenile diabetes and who has financial need.
Julie Sargent Memorial Scholarship
Students with Type - 1 diabetes who are attending Arizona State University can qualify for Julie Sargent Memorial Scholarship.

Novo Nordisk Scholarship
Novo Nordisk, the leading pharmaceutical company in diabetes care and Billie Jean King WTT Charities offers two awards each provide $5,000 scholarships to young tennis players suffering from diabetes. Students of ages 14-21, who have diabetes and play tennis competitively in tournaments or on their school team can receive the $5,000 scholarships.
Diabetes Scholarships for Teachers
AADE Education and Research Foundation offers scholarships to educators who are teaching in the field of diabetes.
